Mission Central Disaster Relief
Mission Central will be sending 15,000 disaster relief kits to Haiti. They will need both money to get them there and replacement kits.
Here are the items: We'll start collecting THIS Sunday. Please bring your items in gallon size ziploc bags until further instructed. You can do a whole kit or do individual items; just bring them to church in a gallon size ziploc bag.
Items needed for the disaster kits:
Hand Towels (15" x 25" up to 17" x 27", No kitchen towels please)
Washcloths
Combs (large and sturdy, not pocket-sized please)
Nail file or fingernail clippers (no emery boards or toenail clippers please)
Bath-size bar of soap (3 oz. and up)
Toothbrushes (single brushes only in original wrapper, No child-size brushes please)
Adhesive plastic strip sterile bandages
1 gallon ziploc plastic bags

Haiti Earthquake Relief
Dear Friends,
As we watch the devastation in Haiti and look for ways to respond, just a note to tell you that UMCOR, the not-for-profit global humanitarian aid organization of the United Methodist Church is already present in Haiti, and has been a recognized nongovernmental agency since 2005. What that means is... UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) has an established field office in Haiti, has established relationships, and knows the infrastructure. What makes UMCOR so great is 100% of what you give to UMCOR goes directly to relief and in the case of helping Haiti, they are already there and have been for 4 years.

Please be in prayer for all those impacted by the earthquake, including the United Methodist Churches of Haiti and the UMCOR field team that has lived, worked and loved their neighbors in Haiti. And be in prayer for other agencies, rescue workers, and the US military getting ready to go in and help. Most of all pray for God's grace and mercy for the people of Haiti.
